Tribal Tech TA Center
Tribal Tech’s Technical Assistance (TA) Center provides customized services to Native American and Alaska Native tribes, tribally based communities, and Native Villages. Tribal Tech uses an evidence-based, holistic approach to supporting Native communities through infrastructure development, capacity building, and program planning and implementation.
Our Services

CRM is a tool which helps a community assess their readiness to address a specific issue. It can be used to develop strategies for tribal members to gain a realistic understanding of their needs before deciding on goals. This is a critical component of Tribal Action Planning and Strategic Action Planning.

TAP is a tribal developed strategy that is localized and specific to the community’s strengths, resources, needs, and challenges and supports the principle of Tribal self-determination. It can be used to address a variety of issues, such as alcohol and substance abuse prevention and treatment. TAP coordinates local resources and programs and can guide federal partners support to assist in achieving prevention, intervention, and treatment goals combating the challenges defined by the tribe.

SAP development and implementation can effectively launch a program or an initiative in a good way. It is a detailed outline of the steps and tasks to help a community stay on track to achieve its long-term objectives. Tribal Tech guides clients using data collection tools that inform planning and evaluation, such as the Community System Analysis or SWOT analysis.

This training refers to cultural considerations when working with American Indian/Alaska Native communities. Participants will learn of tribal, culture, traditions, and historical relations between the U.S. Federal Government and tribal governments, past and present. Additionally, participants will acquire and enhance effective communication skills with AI/AN communities to strengthen the success of tribal focused programs and identify strength-based approaches in tribal communities.

MHFA training is designed to help identify, understand, and respond to signs of people experiencing mental illness and substance use disorders. Participants develop the skills needed to reach out and provide initial support to those who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis. Tribal Tech has instructors certified through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to provide MHFA for youth, adults and tribes.

GONAs/GOANs are a prevention curriculum that utilizes Indigenous values, practices, and trauma-informed principles. The GONA/GOAN framework can be used for community healing and action planning for organizations, communities, and tribes. Tribal Tech helps the community harvest local knowledge and tailors service to community needs and challenges to identify solutions to move forward in a good way.

Seasoned educators provide valuable insights into effective classroom management strategies and access to a wide range of practical tools that enhance student critical thinking and student developed strategies for positive behaviors. Our approach infuses an Indigenous culture, beliefs, and practices local to the tribe or region we are working within.
