Non-Profits Supporting Victims of Southern California Fires

As of January 13, 2025, officials said, “92,000 people in Los Angeles County were under evacuation orders Monday morning.” The fires in southern California have destroyed over 12,000 structures and scorched more than 60 square miles as the Palisades and Eaton wildfires still burn.

Many non-profits are supporting those impacted by the fires. If you’re interested in donating, check out the following trusted organizations.

World Central Kitchen

World Central Kitchen, the charity group founded by the chef José Andrés, is in the region and providing help. The team is working with food trucks and restaurants to provide meals for emergency workers and anyone affected by the wildfires. Donate here.

Los Angeles Fire Department Fund

The LA Fire Department Fund is seeking monetary donations to equip firefighters battling the wildfires with items including emergency fire shelters, hydration backpacks and wildland brush tools. Donate here.

CCF ensures that resources reach those most in need, leveraging partnerships with community-based organizations and government agencies while using data from CalFire and the CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index to prioritize underserved communities. Donate here.

Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firefighters Fund

The Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighter’s Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity founded in 1906 and dedicated to helping the families of firefighters injured or killed in the line of duty or facing other crises. Donate here.

Best Friends

Right now, Best Friends’ emergency response team is on the ground in Los Angeles, offering help and support to other local animal welfare organizations while also working to ensure the safety of their pets and staff in our Pet Adoption Center. Donate here.

The American Red Cross said people looking to help could visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a donation.

Los Angeles Regional Food Bank

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is accepting both financial donations and essential items as it works to help people impacted by the fires. Donate here.

The Salvation Army works in conjunction with government and non-profit agencies to provide food, personal necessities, and shelter to survivors and first responders (i.e. firefighters, police and sheriff's departments). Donate here.

Baby2Baby

Baby2Baby has already distributed 1.5 million emergency supplies for the most vulnerable children and families who have lost everything in the Los Angeles fires including diapers, food, formula, water, clothing, blankets and hygiene products, and they are committed to continuing this work for the weeks and months to come. With this fund, the United Way of Greater Los Angeles is drawing upon their experience from past wildfires to address urgent, ongoing needs, which include support for low-income individuals whose livelihood has been disrupted, people experiencing homelessness and those who provide services to support them, and disruptions to community organizations and small businesses. California Fire Foundation

The California Fire Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, provides emotional and financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, firefighters and the communities they protect. Donate here.

Direct Relief

Direct Relief, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that has been assisting by handing out free N95 respirators and other essential items in Los Angeles, is also accepting donations at their website.

Pasadena Humane has taken in over 400 animals from the Eaton Fire Emergency. They are desperately in need of monetary donations to help purchase medical supplies and other resources as they start to see a significant increase in the number of burned and injured animals coming to the shelter. CORE immediately deployed an emergency response team to support those near the fires, where air quality is a major concern.
